Benefits of Equipment Recycling
Our contribution to saving the environment is something that is of utmost importance to National Computer Liquidators. While our main focus is purchasing used equipment from large companies, what happens to the unusable equipment is critical as well.
All equipment we receive is resold, donated or recycled. When we say computer recyclingwe mean it. Equipment that has no value is actually shredded and then separated into its most basic component materials that will then be refined and reused to make new products. Nothing is sent to landfills or put back into the environment in a hazardous way.
A certificate of destruction is provided to each client that it is applicable, and transfer of ownership documents are provided to all clients as well.
Data destruction is carried out on all hard drives whether requested or not. We do this in several ways. The minimum that is done is reformatting all drives on any equipment that is received. This will remove all data that was on the drive. When requested the drives can be overwritten with a multi-pass software wipe; with a minimum of three complete overwrites of the drive. When there is an even greater level of concern on a client's part, we will use the same method but do seven overwrites of the drive. Either of these methods are preferable since this completely eradicates data but allows the drive to be reused later with a new operating system. We also utilize the degaussing method, which removes all data and renders the drive unusable. Lastly, there is the method where the drives are destroyed by physically shredding each drive. Whichever method is used, all data is permanently destroyed, leaving you worry free!
